Fundraising, Volunteer and Donation Opportunities

Jeannie Robertson Show Fundraiser - Kol Ami’s biggest fundraiser of the year is coming up at the Weinberg Center on October 20th. Tickets for wildly popular humorist Jeannie Robertson's show go on sale to the general public on Thursday, August 16th, at 10 a.m. and her shows sell out quickly. The box office is holding 50 tickets located in the first four rows of the center orchestra just for Kol Ami members on a first-come, first-served basis. On or after August 16th either call the box office directly (301-600-2828), or go to the box office in person and identify yourself as a Kol Ami member. Once these tickets are sold, you will still be able to purchase your tickets elsewhere in the theater, no need to mention Kol Ami. All seats throughout the theater go on sale for one price -- $49.55 each. If you choose to order tickets online, there is a $5 fee per order (not per ticket).  Buy here online>

Way to Take Jewish Action around Family Separation:

We have beared witness to the horrific events happening at our southern border, where 2,000 children of all ages have been separated from their parents. Here is how we can help: Organized by the Reform Action Center of Reform Judaism is an effort to gather and donate tangible support to detainees and separated families. Over the next few weeks, we will be collecting the following (new or gently used) items to be sent to the local Reform synagogue in McAllen, TX to then be distributed to individuals in need:

- Pedialyte
- Deodorant for men and women
- Blankets
- Women's underwear in sizes 5-6
- Women's bras and sports bras in 32-36
- Maternity pants
- Women's pants in sizes 7 and below
- Children's shoes in all sizes, particularly athletic shoes
- Toiletries (must be new)
- Children's toys

Please drop off any/all of these supplies to our office any day of the week or mail your donations yourself to Michael Blum Social Ation Chair, Temple Emanuel, 4300 North C. Street, McAllen, TX 78504
