Welcome to Congregation Kol Ami of Frederick

Congregation Kol Ami of Frederick is an inclusive, Reform Jewish congregation that is family-focused, community oriented, emphasizing spiritual and cultural identity, and dedicated to the Jewish education of all generations. CKAF is a growing, forward-looking Jewish community with a thriving Religious School, and more exciting programs each year!

Message from CKAF President

As we continue to grow as a Congregation and Community, OUR Kol Ami needs many more volunteers to help keep it running smoothly. We especially need YOU to become a part of our wonderful cast of volunteers!

Are you someone that has experience with Accounting or Bookkeeping and are looking to help our congregation?   We currently have an immediate need for both fields.

If accounting is not something you have experience in, BUT you have other special skills that would help Kol Ami continue to grow, I would love to hear from you! We have many volunteer opportunities available.

Please reach out to me directly via email or at 301-346-5753. I look forward to hearing from you this week.

Jordan Schneider

Lunch and Learn with the Rabbi

Lunch and Learn  - We are currently studying Pirkei Avot (literally, "Chapters of the Fathers," but generally translated as "Ethics of Our Fahter").  This is one of the best-known and most-cited of Jewish texts.

The sessions will be held on the first and third Tuesday of each month @ 12:30.  If anyone has suggestions for other topics for Lunch and Learn, please contact Rabbi Dan at rabbi@kolamifrederick.org.

Parents of rising high school seniors

Jack Topchik, a retired New York Times editor, will work one on one with your son or daughter on their college application essay, an increasingly important part of the application process.  The fee, for which many parents have paid up to $1,000, is a $180 donation to Kol Ami.  Contact Jack at jaytop45@gmail.com.
