About Us

Community GraphicCongregation Kol Ami of Fredreick was founded in 2003 by eight families who shared the common vision of creating a Reform Jewish congregation in Frederick County. In 2005.

Congregation Kol Ami has been a member of the Union for Reform Judaism since 2005. CKAF also founded its Religious School in 2005, which today enrolls more than 125 students in kindergarten through Confirmation.Since 2010, we have celebrated more than a dozen B'nai MItzvah a year, and the Confirmation Class of 2014 will be the largest yet.

As we marked Congregation Kol Ami's 10th Anniversary in 2013, we are a strong, vibrant community of 150 households representing diverse backgrounds and across the generations. We have formed KATY - Kol Ami Temple Youth; an active Sisterhood; an Empty Nesters Club;and a Chesed Network to help congregants in times of need.  At our High Holiday Day services, we draw more than 270 people from Frederick County and beyond to worship. Our Second Night Seder, Purim Carnival, and Hanukkah Party are much anticipated annual family events.  CKAF's educational opportunities for adults are also well established, and in 2013 we launched a Social Action Network to reach out to the broader Frederick community.

As we look toward our next 10 years at Congregation Kol Ami of Frederick we are proud of all that we have accomplished and excited for the future. May we continue to go from strength to strength!
