Congregation Kol Ami of Fredreick was founded in 2003 by eight families who shared the common vision of creating a Reform Jewish congregation in Frederick County, Maryland.

Kol Ami founded its Religious School in 2005, which today enrolls more than 100 students in kindergarten through confirmation. Since 2010, we have celebrated more than a dozen B'nai Mitzvah a year. Our confirmation class students not only continue their Jewish education post-B’nai Mitvah, but also mentor younger students each Sunday in our religious school.

Having celebrated Congregation Kol Ami's 15th Anniversary in 2018, we continue to be a strong, vibrant community of 105 households representing diverse backgrounds and across the generations. We have a variety of active groups for all ages and interests; KATY - Kol Ami Temple Youth, Sisterhood, Brotherhood, Empty Nesters and a Chesed Network to help congregants in times of need, to name a few. Our High Holiday Day services draw more than 220 people from Frederick County and beyond to worship. Our annual Second Night Seder, Purim celebration, and Hanukkah party are greatly anticipated family events. Kol Ami’s educational opportunities for adults are also well established, and in 2013 we launched a Social Action Network to reach out to the broader Frederick community.

As we look toward our next 15 years, Congregation Kol Ami of Frederick is proud of all that we have accomplished and we are excited for the future. May we continue to go from strength to strength!

Congregation Kol Ami of Frederick is a member of the Union for Reform Judaism.
