Shabbat

Shabbat graphicShabbat begins at sundown on Friday and ends at sundown on Saturday. Traditionally,  it is a sacred time for rest, worship, family and reflection, Shabbat still holds a special place in the hearts of lReform Jews today.

Congregation Kol Ami typically holds Friday night services twice a month at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Frederick. Tot Shabbat is held from 6:30 pm - 7:00 pm, usually on the first Friday of each month, followed by regular Erev Shabbat Services at 7:30 pm.

When there is a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, Friday night services are followed by Shabbat Morning Service at 10:00 am, also at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Frederick.  Directions >

On Saturday mornings when there is no Bar/Bat Mitzvah, the Rabbi holds a Learner's Service and Torah Study at 10:00 a.m.  The informal Learner's Service allows time for discussion of the prayers and practices of the Jewish service, as well as Torah study.  The Learner's Services and Torah Study are held at the Congregation Kol Ami's office.  Directions >
